Motivation

'Failure is not an option'.  This famous line was said by the Mission Director of Apollo 13, Jean Kranz. Apollo 13 had developed some technical problem while in space and had to give up the plan of landing on the moon. The crew of astronauts had to be brought back to the Earth safely with whatever limited resources they were left with in the space craft!

Once the failure option was eliminated, the team at NASA was freed from the brakes. With full focus they started working on the task at hand, using all their technical knowledge, creativity, resourcefulnessand the can-do attitude.

The result wsa that they were able to guide and bring back the crew of Apollo 13 safely to Earth!

At times, motivation means cutting off the rope of retreat, motivation means not looking back - only looking ahead, motivation means strecting yourself and your team to the highest potential. Motivation also means a fight for survival!

We communicate.....

As creatures of thought we all like to share what we see, know, experience, read, listen... our ambitions, wishes, aspirations, intuition, feelings, complaints, criticism, skepticism.....

We should be able to see things that others might overlook, we should be able to understand things where the sensitivity of others fails them, we should be able convey beautifully what we want to say..that is the essence of successful communication.

Our sensitivity towards the underlying meaning of the communication of others leads us to creating wonderful relationships. The moment we say "I dont want to talk to you or listen to you" we close all channels of communication and this lack of openness is disastrous for any relation..

So may the New Year give a fresh start to help us communicate in beautiful words, words that give hope, life and positivity!
